The Nightmare, My Dream by ~EndlessIllusions:iconEndlessIllusions:

I stood there within the mist
of yet another morning,
the dew on the grass
slowly invading my bare feet,
as the warmth of the sun
cloaked my cold body.
And there I stood,
falling swiftly into my dreams.

Falling and falling,
no longer within my beautiful world,
but dreaming the nightmares
that I became so curious of.

No longer was I warm,
cradled carefully in the awakening arms
nature continually offered.

Now I began to walk on the streets
of a human’s damp world,
seeing miseries of an everyday life.

I touched the pain,
letting the sensations ripple through,
seeing the dark was even as beautiful
as the sun I closed my eyes to.

I stood there within the mist
of yet another morning,
twirling within a splendor,
as I began to love the obscurity
that came from such a terrible world,
showing me to adore my own.
And I stood there,
falling swiftly into my dreams.

Author's Comments

This was written for a certain challenge someone gave to me, mainly on the topic itself. It was one of those poems you write and do not allow yourself to edit because it came completely from your thoughts.

Beautiful...
for some reason, it reminds me of a saying I once heard... "only when you can love hell can you find heaven".

This poem is so amazingly well written, and it takes true courage to let go and drop into the dark side of our consciousness, only so that we can accept and embrace it and move through it towards the light...

Thank you for your wonderful talent !

I can't believe the imagery in this. I could see everything, and it quite nearly brought me to tears. Your work is so ---- I don't even have a word for it. But thank you none the less.
